Nobel Prize for bees!

In 1973, German scientist Karl von Frisch received the Nobel Prize for his research on bee communication, specifically discovering the Bee Dance. By dancing in a figure-eight pattern, bees that find nectar and pollen communicate with other bees in the hive about the direction and distance of the plants relative to the position of the sun! During such dances, bees convey information about the smell of food, so that the “learner” bees, when they leave the hive, can easily find the source themselves. Fascinatingly, it is believed that there are also “dialects” among bees from distant regions.
